All programs can be adapted to fit any grade level, special needs, or interest. And, all students go home with a free gift and coupon to visit us again!

Tour Times
Monday through Friday ● 9:00am or 10:45am

Tour Fees
Cost is $4 per student; up to 10 adult chaperones are free (minimum of one chaperone for every 7 students).
There is a 10-student minimum for all group tour programs.

Fee Assistance Available
The Schulz Museum is committed to making its programs available to everyone. We offer full and partial fee assistance for schools and groups in need of financial aid. Fee assistance is available for
programs delivered between September 2011 and March 2012 only. Call for more information or download our FEE ASSISTANCE APPLICATION FORM (PDF file).


— Making Your Reservations —

Advance registration is required for all programs. Please reserve programs at least three (3) weeks in advance and have several possible dates in mind in order to make sure we can fully accommodate your needs. When you call to make reservations, please have the following information ready:

Name of the program you are reserving (see TOUR TOPICS below)
Preferred and alternate dates
Desired time
Grade or age of group
Number of people in group
Contact person’s name, telephone number, and mailing address

Who is Snoopy?
This introduction to museums, Charles Schulz, and Peanuts is specially designed for young students. Children will enjoy a hands-on tour of the Museum and see a Peanuts animated special. They will also play drawing games and create their own cartoons.

Local Hero: The Story of Charles M. Schulz
Explore the life and career of Charles Schulz and his contributions to local history. Learn to draw your own cartoons and some of Schulz’s most beloved Peanuts characters.

Supports grades 2–4 Social Science and Visual Arts content standards

The Art of the Story
Learn how Charles Schulz and other cartoonists use their own life experiences to develop characters and convey stories in just four cartoon panels. Explore the key elements of a story and learn to tell your own story with images in a hands-on cartoon workshop.

Supports grades 3–6 Language Arts and Visual Arts content standards


The Art of Cartooning
Cartoons make us laugh, tell stories, and comment on the world around us. Learn how cartoonists use simple lines to show complex characters and emotions. Students will tour the Museum, and create their own animation sequence and watch it come to life in our giant zoetropes.

Character Creation Workshop
Discover how cartoonists and artists come up with ideas and create characters. Then develop your own characters and stories and work in small groups to bring your stories to life with stop-motion computer animation.

Let the Schulz Museum bring the field trip to YOU! The Museum offers the following two classroom experiences designed to introduce students to cartooning, animation, and Charles Schulz.

Peanuts on the Go
Learn about local icon Charles Schulz and Peanuts by learning how to draw Snoopy and creating several crafts to take home, including a Snoopy puppet and mask.

Cartooning in Your Classroom
Explore the art of cartooning and animation! Students will create a comic strip, hand-drawn animated sequence for the zoetrope, and experiment with basic stop-motion computer animation.

FOR KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 6TH GRADE

Peanuts. . .Naturally Schoolwide Festival
The Schulz Museum will turn your school into a hands-on art and science museum with over 15 fun, nature-related interactive exhibits. Students will explore and learn about the environment by making their own recycled paper, designing and racing solar cars, planting a garden to take home, measuring their carbon footprint, experimenting with animal adaptation, and more. Perfect for a family night or science enrichment program for all grades, this Festival serves up to 200 people at a time and can stay at your school for a few hours or a few days.

— Extend Your Field Trip —

Ice Skate at Snoopy's Home Ice
Extend your field trip! Ice skating at Snoopy's Home Ice is available from 12–2pm for $5 per person. Chairs are available for beginners on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Reserve your ice time when you reserve your tour with the Museum.
